Exposed to architecture and design at a young age through parents in creative fields, Sam Culpepper has a deep appreciation for the broad scope of expression in the built environment. While attending Georgia Tech, Sam spent an influential year studying abroad in Paris. He received the Franco-American Studio Award for his thesis work on sustainable low-income community design and developed a passion for architectural photography. Sam graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Architecture in 2009 and began working at Marks, Thomas Architects – an award-winning firm in Baltimore, Maryland. While at MTA, he took on a broad range of projects from multi-family, student, and affordable housing to historic rehabilitation, commercial and institutional work. Sam returned to Atlanta in 2013 and became an integral part of the C+TC team. He has worked on several high-end hospitality projects around the country – most recently the Omni Hotel alongside the new Braves stadium at the Battery Atlanta.
Sam always has his camera close by and his running shoes tucked under his desk. His latest personal project is first-time parenthood. He’s looking forward to raising his son on design and architecture, too.
